WNO announces world première of major new opera In Parenthesis, commissioned by the Nicholas John Trust with 14-18 NOW to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and to celebrate WNO’s 70th year.
To be performed in Summer 2016, In Parenthesis is young British composer Iain Bell’s adaptation of the epic poem by poet, writer and artist David Jones.
Performances at Wales Millennium Centre and Birmingham Hippodrome go on sale in March 2015, with the performances at the Royal Opera House to go on sale in 2016 as part of WNO’s residency in London.
