Artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper today unveiled the installation of the sculpture
Poppies: Weeping Window at The Black Watch Castle and Museum in Perth. The public will be able to view the artwork from tomorrow. The Castle and Museum is home to The Black Watch, Scotland’s premier Highland Regiment, 50,000 of whom fought during the First World War.
The Poppies: Wave and Weeping Window tour has so far reached record numbers, as thousands of visitors flock to see the poignant works. Since September 2015 nearly one million people have visited the sculptures across the UK.
Currently Poppies: Wave can be seen at Lincoln Castle until early September and has already welcomed over 150,000 visitors. Over 40,000 visitors saw ‘Weeping Window’ during its time at Orkney’s St. Magnus Cathedral when the sculpture became a backdrop to commemorations of the Battle of Jutland.
Poppies: Weeping Window will be installed later in the year at Caernarfon Castle in Wales – home to the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum.
