MAJOR ART COMMISSIONS THIS ARMISTICE WEEKEND

To mark Armistice Day and the end of the Battle of the Somme, 14-18 NOW has five major projects taking place this weekend:

A brand new BBC Four documentary about Jeremy Deller’s modern Somme memorial we’re here because we’re here on Sunday 13 November at 8pm

A live performance of Black Dog – The Dreams of Paul Nash by comic artist Dave McKean at Tate Britain

A live performance of the choral piece Memorial Ground by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang at the National Portrait Gallery and St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow

The new BalletBoyz film Young Men broadcast for the first time on BBC Two at 8.30pm on 12 November before the film is released in cinemas next year

Poppies: Weeping Window by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper at Caernarfon Castle open until 20 November
