End of Empire: What the press had to say

We are delighted that End of Empire is now open at Turner Contemporary.

Shonibare’s new work features two figures attired in wax fabrics, their globe-heads highlighting the countries involved in WW1. Offering a metaphor for dialogue, balance and conflict.

‘The work is at once seemingly frivolous and yet disturbing’ says Artlyst’s Paul Black.

Shonibare’s installation invites us to linger longer, to ponder, and to wonder‘ describes Boyd Tonkin for the i newspaper.

Read more coverage in Kent Online and Alexander Hawkins’ piece for It’s Nice That.

Watch Shonibare in conversation with Kirsty Lang, Barnaby Philips and Dr Meera Sabaratnam.
