INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

We have many amazing female artists creating new work as part of this year’s 14-18 NOW programme, from fashion designers Vivienne Westwood and Roksanda Illincic (Fashion & Freedom), to theatre director Katie Mitchell (The Forbidden Zone); composer Charlotte Bray (Aldeburgh Festival) and Turner Prize-nominated artist Ciara Phillips (Dazzle Ship Scotland). Each will bring their own perspective to the stories of the First World War and draw our attention to the shape of the world we live in today.

Today, on International Women’s Day you can see War Damaged Musical Instruments by Turner Prize-winning artist Susan Philipsz.  This powerful sound installation is at Tate Britain until 3 April.
