I wanted to write a letter to the unknown soldier to show my proudness of him and the things he has achieved in his lifetime although it was short. He was a very brave man for all the things he had done for us all 100 years ago, him being unknown brings a tear to my eye as somebody must be a relation to this amazing person but who would want him to be kept alone without a name??

Dear unknown soldier,
I pity your anonymity as someone who should be proud; your face shows your comfort, your pride, your glory.

I noticed the scarf around your neck someone must be there; don’t ever feel lonely or annoyed with despair. For you are full with a life from every solider unknown like you, but you are one of the lucky ones because look at your view.

Many will be missing you or even feeling guilty, unknown solider you are our memorial of the military.

Are you proud? Are you disappointed? As you went over that hill to confront the front line just like a toy that nobody no longer wanted. They told you it would be a short time but turned out 10x longer, unknown solider you are our hero, we honour you with our lives just like you did for ours. But nothing can ever repay your life that you so sadly lost fighting our battles.

There will be a time when it will all come clear, your name will be shouted out for everyone to hear. Your family would be amazed or even astonished by the fact that one of their family members are the symbol of every other unknown soldiers’ lives.

Rest in peace unknown solider for one day we will find your name, at least you are now out of your misery, their war and their games. We will forever be proud of you never forget that, god has gained another angel for which cannot be repaid.

You will be remembered our hero..
Aimee Lamb.
