14-18 NOW supported The Story Museum to create Incredible Journeys – six unique stories about the animals who fought in the First World War specially designed for school children and family audiences.
Premiered at The Story Museum in Oxford, some of the country’s leading storytellers used animal characters to create a brand new narrative, offering children an introduction to the global impact of the First World War.
Inspired by real events, the stories are threaded together with humour, song and opportunities to join in, enabling younger audiences to explore countries, cultures and creatures caught up in the First World War and understand what it means a century on.
Supporting lesson plans offer cross-curricular links including Literacy, History, global diversity topics, Art, Drama and more besides. Each story can be used as a stand-alone resource or taught as a scheme of work. Learn More
