The final six locations on the #PoppiesTour

18 October 2017

This morning, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Karen Bradley, announced the final six locations of the Poppies Tour in 2018.

The locations will be:

Hereford Cathedral
Weeping Window: 14 March – 29 April

Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson
Wave: 13 April – 24 June

Carlisle Castle
Weeping Window: 23 May – 8 July

Middleport Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent
Weeping Window: 2 August – 16 September

IWM North, Manchester
Wave: 8 September – 25 November

IWM London
Weeping Window: 6 October – 18 November

The final two locations on the Poppies Tour will be the two sites of the Imperial War Museum, IWM North and IWM London. The two sculptures will then move into the long-term ownership of the Imperial War Museum, becoming part of the permanent collection.

The breath-taking sculptures were initially conceived as the key dramatic sculptural elements in the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red at the Tower of London in the autumn of 2014, by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper. The Poppies Tour has been visited by over 3 million people to date.
