A year in development, BalletBoyz presented an excerpt of its much anticipated new full length show Young Men as part of an evening of dance at the Roundhouse, the full work premiered in January 2015 at Sadler’s Wells.

Drawing inspiration from images of war through the ages, and particularly the First World War, Young Men explores the theme of war and the bond that forms between men that train and fight together.  Choreographed by Iván Pérez with an original score by composer and musician Keaton Henson, the show features film and projection by BalletBoyz.

Winners of the 2013 National Dance Award for Best Independent Company, BalletBoyz have revolutionised dance presentation formats and are at the forefront of digital dance creation.

The evening at the Roundhouse also featured the company’s award winning double bill Serpent / Fallen, for the final time in London at the Roundhouse, by leading British choreographers Liam Scarlett and Russell Maliphant with live music performed by BBC Concert Orchestra. Young Men was conducted by Keaton Henson.

Young Men is co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW and Sadler’s Wells.
