POPPIES: Wave and Weeping Window

BY PAUL CUMMINS ARTIST AND TOM PIPER DESIGNER

July 2015 - December 2018

TOURING

Learning

The Poppies Tour learning and engagement programme offers teacher resources and continuing professional development, easy to access family self-guided activities and a film and animation workshop series.

The learning sequences in the downloadable pack are full of creative and practical ideas for primary and secondary teachers visiting the Wave and Weeping Window sculptures. These resources for 9 – 13 year olds will help you and your class get the best experience both before, during and after your visit. They are equally useful for those searching for standalone activities to explore the First World War and the significance of the Remembrance Poppy and feature suggested activities including ‘Produce a Poppy’ workshops and ‘create your own First World War soundtrack.’
