‘His work seemed to show an inner, dreamlike landscape, a landscape of the mind.’

14 April 2016

This May, a book by the illustrator Dave McKean will be released in limited edition with a live multimedia performance at Kendal Town Hall. Black Dog – The Dreams of Paul Nash is an illustrative response to work of World War One artist Paul Nash.

In October, the book will be adapted in to a graphic novel at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival.

We asked McKean about his inspiration for the project and Nash’s influence on his work, read the full
interview here.

Watch him discuss his work at our 2016 season launch here.
